First of all we have decided to produce an option for those wishing to get into news presentation, and wish to buy a ready to go outfit with all facilities for news presentation built in
To that end we are assembling PC's with the following: 2gb RAM, 19" LCD Screen, 80Gb Hard Drive, keyboard & mouse, professional studio boom arm, Behringer X1800S studio microphone, professional pop-guard, Jaycar microphone cabling, Audio recording and editing software, time synchronizing (so you always have the correct time) & XP Pro. Price is $800 inclusive of GST, just add the cost of delivery, which we can quote upon enquiry.
All you'll need then is a speaker or amp system, internet connectivity and away you go.
If you'd prefer to "build your own, then following are some options to allow you to set up a Home Studio. Some options require you use a computer with USB connections and Plug 'n Play functionality.
Remember that a Laptop computer generally does not have line input capability and is therefore unsuitable for attaching a mixer. In those cases the USB cable is the way to go.

There are plenty of options to purchase as a studio microphone. As this is for News voice at a "moderate" level, you don't need to spend hundreds of dollars to get the required quality. We do however recommend an equivalent to an SM58 standard of microphone, preferably uni-directional. Some suggestions include:

There are a number of ways you can cable your microphone to your PC, one methos is via a Cannon (XLR) connection to USB, the other is via small mixer. Please note that a Studio Microphone into your PC Microphone socket will GENERALLY not work satisfactorily.
